Blackberry Crisp

Ingredients

  • 4 cups blackberries

  • 1 cup old fashioned oats

  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup flour

  • 1 ½ tablespoons cornstarch

  • 4 tablespoons butter

Directions

Step 1.

Pre-heat oven to 350F degrees.

Step 2.

In a mixing bowl, combine the berries, sugar, and cornstarch until the berries are completely covered.

Step 3.

Place the berry mixture in a prepared (spray with cooking oil or buttered) 8” x 11” glass baking dish or a medium cast iron frying pan.

Step 4.

Wipe your mixing bowl clean and combine the oats, flour, sliced almonds, and brown sugar, mixing to combine.

Step 5.

Cut in the butter with a pastry cutter or use your hands to blend in the butter. It should be combined well, and the mixture will be crumbly.

Step 6.

Pour the oatmeal topping over your berries, making sure to distribute it evenly.

Step 7.

Bake 20 minutes and serve warm with ice cream.
